Mulled Wine Recipe: Cook Vegetarian Magazine

Ingredients:

4 X Oranges
1 X Lemon
2 X Cinnamon Sticks
Nutmeg
Cloves
Cardamon or vanilla, optional
2 X bottles of unoaked red wine
Sugar

method:

  • Juice four oranges and one lemon into a large saucepan, then add the zest from the lemon and one of the oranges.
  • Add two cinnamon sticks, grated nutmeg and a few cloves (you can also add cardamon or vanilla).
  • Pour in two bottles of unoaked red wine. Add 150g sugar (more if you've got a sweet tooth) and heat for 20 minutes, then keep warm.
